This week also saw a turning point in our business...on Thursday we were awarded a large package of immediate takeover business for Ford. This is HUGE for our Division and as we have been saying for the past few months this short period will define the future of our Division for the next 5 years. We are also in the running for some other business that will further set us apart from what is left of the competition!!
The world news continues to circle on itself...markets can't wait for something to grab onto right now...positive or negative. My concern is that there remains more negative news that all of us just want to ignore. Unemployment in MI is near 16% in some areas and the day to day struggles for many continue. While I have been an optimist for quite some time in this economy, I am starting to see the potential for a massive shift (and quickly) with some of the extreme debt our country is taking on. People are starting to get wacky out there too...right to bear arms, etc. (this will never be taken away and some just go to extremes) There is not a politician out there that will stand up to be a Statesman...the Obama afterglow is still too strong. Nothing wrong with feeling good while the 'fix' to the economic nightmare will be larger than what we have just gone through during the past 6 months. Get ready for higher taxes!!!! (oh, BTW Social Security still hasn't been fixed!)
