Thoughts for the day...SAAR 10.2m based on Dec!

The automotive numbers are out!!!  If you look at this link (or any others for that matter) you would think that just the domestic Big 3 had a terrible year...but, look closely, Toyota was down over 30%!!  Prius down 45%!!  (this isn't just due to cheap gas...it's ugly!!)  http://detnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/section?category=AUTO01  Folks, as I've said until I can't say it anymore...this is due to lack of available credit & people not wanting to spend!  Or, seeing this article, maybe based on the data I stand corrected!  We'll see...http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123120666040256163.html

Welcome to an overall 13.24m SAAR for 2008 and a new life as we know it...predictions are to hang around 10m for the next few quarters.

On the Sports side, I sent this to a few 'select' special MEEECHIGAN fans yesterday and it bears repeating here: 1, 2 and 3 for all time in college football...ND, UofM, Ohio State.  When did 11 become less than 8??  Oh BTW based on what we saw last night from Texas v. Onto ND basketball...they beat Georgetown last night pretty well!  Only 3 losses and now the tough part starts as they head into the meat of the schedule.  Can't wait for March Madness!
